Satire and Humor in Ancient Egypt. The restored papyrus. At Egyptian Museum in Turin, the so-called Papyrus Erotico-satiric is exhibited. This is a prime example of graphic art that is comparable to historical comics. The creative process of communication starts from the search for symbols and language systems in the vast hieroglyphic repertoire of what we can consider the first comic strip in history. Animals, men, metaphors, social parodies, lust and transgression. The challenge is to communicate the exposure of a “pop object”, drawing on past and present satirical visual codes, while maintaining the visual identity of a museum exhibition.
